The Kunstraum (“Art Space“) Dornbirn was established in 1987 as a non-profit organization whose primary objective is presenting and promoting contemporary art. Since 2003 exhibitions have taken place in the specially converted historic assembly hall of the former Rusch machine factory in the Dornbirn City Gardens. This hall offers ideal conditions for showcasing extensive walk-in installations.
Architecturally the Rusch Works building has been preserved in its original, “raw” state, with sufficient space to accommodate artistic works currently involved in international trends. With a maximum of four exhibitions per year, both renowned mainstream artists and lesser known ultra-modern artistic positions have enjoyed wide acceptance.
Gallery in the window:A special window gives visitors a first glimpse of the current exhibition from the outside. The illumination of the exhibition from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. provides an interesting perspective on the environment in Kunstraum Dornbirn.
